The Admiral Series is designed to offer a budget range of hydraulic steering to leisure boat users without sacrificing quality and performance. These Australian made powerful hydraulic steering systems are built to suit the harsh marine environment for long lasting smooth reliable operation.

The Admiral Series of Bullhorn Kits are designed for use on pleasure boats up to 300HP Single Outboards or Dual Outboards Counter-rotating Props up to 600HP. They have a Bronze/Stainless Steel cylinder design, with unique electrolytic insulation between metals for maximum corrosion resistance.

Is This the Right Kit for My Boat?

Bull Horn type steering kits are by far the most popular steering systems for outboard motors as they are compact, robust, simple to install and require the minimum amount of clearance in an engine well.

Measure the narrowest section of your engine well - the bull horn kits are all 540mm wide plus they need a little extra room for the engine to turn so ideally you'll need Clearance (C) approx 560-600mm , as the cylinder tilts down with the motor you need to ensure this has room in front of the motor both Clearance (A) & Clearance (B) approx 120 - 150mm . Easy Installation:

These Hydrive Admiral steering kits make it a very simple DIY installation.
Installation of HyDrive steering equipment is very simple. From the minute you open the box and begin to read the comprehensive instructions, you will find the system has been designed to be installed by even the most inexperienced boating enthusiast, without any hydraulic knowledge. Everything you need is included, right down to the nuts, bolts, and Loctite.

Commander Kits  - Utilise an aluminium cylinder design, with unique electrolytic insulation between metals for maximum corrosion resistance. Commander kits use the 501 Helm Pump Unit.

What sets the HyDrive Admiral Series cylinders apart from the competition is the materials used to build them.  While other brands use anodised or painted aluminum cylinders, the HyDrive Admiral Series Kits use Chromed Brass, Bronze and Stainless steel materials - built for the toughest marine environment. The Admiral Kits also use a better quality 401 Helm Pump Unit.

• Optional Helm Wedge - (WEDGE-401) - 20 Degree Wedge to Suit the 401 or 501 Helm Pumps - allows 0-20 degree adjustment to cater for an angled dash.

Hydrive Helm Wedge

• Optional Rear Mount (Helm) Kit - Adding his unit means the steering wheel/helm does not protrude into the helmsman's space so much as part of the helm mechanism can be recessed behind the dash. It  fits any model 401,402 and 501 helm unit - adjustable from low-profile to full protrusion for maximum flexibility in helm placement. Simply trim the spacers and studs to adjust the amount of penetration into the helm position. The front dash or console ring is fully O-ring sealed against pump body to prevent water ingress to the rear of the console. Easy to fit - easy to adjust - looks great. (REAR MOUNT KIT)
